私たちは、誰もが安全で健康であることを願っています。 ブリタニアはここ数週間、賑やかで、復帰したプレイヤーや、新しいプレイヤーを迎え入れ続けています! UOチームは今後のパブリッシュを締めくくるために懸命に取り組んでいます。 今年の初めに、私たちはUltima Onlineの将来の計画と、最大の利用者に拡大する方法についてお話しました。 そのビジョンを達成するために、人気のある季節のコンテンツの更新を準備するだけでなく、ゲームの世界でイベントがどのように実装されているかを再考するために、Publish 109の全体を費やしてきました。

Producer Notes

Greetings Everyone,

We hope everyone is remaining safe and healthy.  Britannia is bustling these past weeks and we continue to welcome returning and new players alike!  The team is working hard to wrap up the upcoming publish.  Earlier this year we talked about our plans for the future of Ultima Online and how we wanted to expand to the largest audience yet.  In order to accomplish that vision we’ve spent the entirety of Publish 109 preparing updates for our popular seasonal content as well as rethinking how events are implemented within the game world.  

Our seasonal content is among the most popular within Ultima Online and we are excited to bring updates to the following content in Publish 109 which includes, 

  • 23rd Anniversary Rewards!
  • New Jack-o-Lantern Designs to collect from Graveyard Butchers and Grimms!
  • New Trophies in the Huntmaster’s Challenge!
  • New sets of Vice & Virtue Themed Rewards in the Artisan Festival!
When it comes to rethinking how events are implemented you’ve heard us talk a lot about EM tool updates.  Some of you have already hopped on TC1 to check out these new tools which include, 
  • Completely refactored mob generation to allow greater customization of monsters for more exciting PvM fights!
  • Custom Champ Spawns to allow on the fly spawns with more dynamic monster combinations and custom bosses!
  • Dynamic Quest System with new support tools like revamped quest NPCs and new narrative items like Lore Books & Quest Items to immerse yourself deeper into the story!
With the introduction of these tools we will be playing with them on TC1 in the near future to iron out any issues and determine the best way to use them for events.  For those that participate on TC1 to help test these new tools I will be recognizing those efforts with something at your shard’s reward hall!  Thank you so much to those who have already come to TC1 with your EMs and given feedback!

With these features nearing completion it will allow us to finalize our design process for what’s coming in Publish 110.  We know you are anxious to find out what our vision holds for the future of Ultima Online and we are anxious to share it with you in the coming months!

At our recent Oceania Meet & Greet a player asked where to find out about Developers Meet and Greet and other event times and dates.  You can always check out the the Event Calendar that can be found on UO.Com for all the latest in-game happenings in UO.  Also, with so many returning and new players to the game there have been many questions on the best way to make your way through Britannia.  You can always consult the UO Wiki and talk with other players on the UO Forum for advice.  If you would like to contribute future information & FAQs to the wiki feel free to contact the wiki editor.

We’ve gotten some feedback on Event Moderator events recently and I would like to address those. We’ve heard concerns regarding the new teleporters the EMs are using that randomly divided players which meant you were not able to fight with your friends/guild.  To address this we’ve made a change in the upcoming publish that will make sure party members will go to the same location.  There have been several reports that the Boss Mobs from the EM events have been disappearing after a small amount of damage was done to them.  Please do not blame the EM.  We have looked into a reason and are still trying to figure out why this is happening so we can prevent it from happening in the future.  Hopefully with the new tools this behavior with the bosses will stop.  Please be patient until we can solve this mystery.  When we have it resolved we will let you know.

Ultima Store Item Preview

We are really excited about some new items coming to the Ultima Store in the months following Publish 109!  Check out the new Decorative Mage Set!

“My meditations are not to be disturbed,” Batlin said to the sentry. Instead of the lordly garb and golden pendant Batlin usually wore, he was clothed only in a simple woolen robe.  The trapdoor creaked as the cult leader pulled it up by its iron latch. As he started down the stairs, Batlin responded to his follower’s confusion, “One must descend into darkness to rise up stronger.”

The sentry pretended to understand. “Yes, Brother Batlin. Nobody will get past me.”

The cellar was empty except for an object wrapped in cloth at the center of the room. It was the cleanest basement in all of Britain. Absent were the skitterings of insects or vermin. Batlin sat down and took a deep breath. He unwrapped a perfect cube carved in Blackrock. Then he extinguished the candle and waited in the darkness. 

Batlin felt the cold rage before he heard the words, “You have failed.” The Voice did not give him the opportunity to stammer out an explanation before the pain began. With the Cube’s magic, the darkness pulled the relevant memories from his mind:

Fellowship loyalists had carefully placed explosives in the sewers under Britain. The detonations had flooded the dungeon of Castle Blackthorn with sludge and river water. Dozens of masons and carpenters, already conditioned at a Meditation Retreat, had cleared the caverns under the castle and built the Cube Generator needed to spread the Voice across Sosaria. For a time, the Fellowship’s influence had grown, until some heretics had smashed the workings of the generator. The first of the Fellowship’s gifts was now a silent monument under Britannia’s capital. 

Batlin muffled a scream and hit his fists against the cold stone floor. “I protected it as best I could. We wanted it close to influence the King, but it raised too much suspicion. If I could be allowed to raise an army, we could take half the country.”

They have already been tested thus.” The darkness formed images in Batlin’s mind:

Britannia was invaded by the raw elemental powers of Pagan. It was not the slaughter the Titans had expected. Humanity and its gargoyle allies had been ready. Stratos won no allies with her silver lies. Hydros failed to drown even the canal city of Vesper. Pyros was torn apart by legions of trained dragons. The warhammers of Minoc had smashed the foul visage of Lithos. Victory had gone to Britannia. 

Batlin felt the harms his master’s minions had endured, every spell and sword strike. He whimpered pitifully on the ground. “What can I do to fix this?”

Take their power.” The images changed to another of the Fellowship’s gifts, a great Blackrock Tetrahedron:

High in the mountains, the dark pyramid seemed to bend the light of the setting sun, focusing it on a single Britannian island. The magic torches of the Lycaeum sparked and sputtered before exploding. The mages who fought the inferno found their spells either failed or added to the chaos. As the great library burned, the rest of Moonglow was plunged into darkness and madness. 

Batlin pulled himself into a sitting position. “It will be done.”

Then you will finish the gate on the dark path.

Batlin struggled to his feet. “Soon, Master, soon.”

 

Question & Answer

1.   Why is it Gargoyles in the Classic client do not have access to the flight path?

This was a bug and will be fixed in the upcoming publish, we appreciate you guys letting us know it was broken.

2.    Can we get additional items we can craft with stone?

Yes! We have added this request to the backlog for a future publish.

3.  Can you open up the ability to teleport to the Sea Market?

The location was designed to promote players to travels the oceans to fish and fight the dreaded deep sea creatures that inhabit the High Seas.  We will talk about this more but at the current time we have no plans to put in a teleport system for the Sea Market.

4.  Can we upgrade search abilities for the Jewelry boxes for different attributes?

We have been been asked this question for a while now, each time we tell you it’s on the list.  While this upgrade is not slated for this coming publish, we do have the feature request in the backlog and will let you know when we plan to implement it.

5.  Can containers be sold on Auction Safes?

We have no plans to implement this feature at this time as we would need to refactor a significant portion of the system to accommodate this request.

Accounts that have been closed within the last year require the secret word and 2 pieces of information.

Accounts that have been closed for more than a year require only the secret word, if a secret word is not set then 4 pieces of information are required.

  • Payment information (CC)

EA ORIGIN – ORDERS, CODES, AND THIRD PARTY RESELLERS

Sovereigns Coin Codes purchased from EA Origin have to be redeemed on the Account Center; you cannot enter these in game.
Sovereign Coin Codes that have been redeemed are bound to the EA Account they were redeemed on and are only usable by the accounts linked with that EA Account; Sovereign Coin currency may not be transferred.

CODE PURCHASE DELAY
You may have noticed that Origin Store purchases made did not arrived as expected. The Origin Store enacts reviews on all transactions to safeguard against fraudulent purchases, and these reviews may take up to 72 hours. THIRD PARTY RESELLERS
We would also like to reiterate that the Origin store is the only guaranteed provider of codes for Ultima Online. The validity of a code purchased from a third-party seller (be it a friend, in-game acquaintance, or recommended site) cannot be guaranteed. Furthermore, any codes we find to have be fraudulently obtained will be disabled and an account that applies any of these codes will have that code removed from said account. This can result in the loss of game time, character slots, expansion access, Sovereigns (and the items purchased with them), in-game items and more. Please be advised that we cannot assist with any issues stemming from codes purchased via non-Origin means; you will be required to contact the vendor from which you purchased the code for further assistance.
